From June 10-14, the Catholic University of Valencia San Vicente Mártir (UCV) organised an International Staff Week on Foreign Languages at HEIs, drawing together 25 educators and administrators from partner institutions from Europe, Asia, and Latin America. . The event focused on the pivotal role of foreign languages in higher education, providing a dynamic platform for cross-cultural exchange and professional development.

Through activities designed to foster collaboration and enhance linguistic proficiency, participants discussed about the importance of multilingualism in today’s globalized academic environment, language teaching methodologies, and participated in innovative language tandem sessions everyday. , where attendees paired up to practice each other’s languages. This hands-on approach not only improved language skills but also strengthened personal connections across nationalities.

The programme also included a workshop on languages and a Conference about incorporating artificial intelligence (AI) into second language learning. Led by Professor Arash Javadinejad, the session explored the latest trends, challenges, and opportunities in this rapidly evolving field.
